Promotions
MCPC has long prided itself on having the best and brightest
people who work hard and care deeply about great planning
in Montgomery County. It’s easy to understand why many of
our employees earn promotions. In August, we were pleased
to announce the most recent promotions: John Cover (Assistant
Director), Eric Jarrell (Assistant Section Chief II), Michael
Narcowich (Principal Planner II), Jon Lesher (Principal Planner
I), Margaret Dobbs (Planner II), Donna Fabry (Planner II), Brian
Olszak (Planner II), and Sarah Richardsen (Planner II). Our staff
celebrated the promotions at a potluck breakfast.
Staff News
In 2016, 13 staff members held certification from the
American Institute of Certified Planners, which is part of the
American Planning Association. Professional planners with
an AICP certification have the academic qualifications,
relevant work experience, and mastery of essential
skills required for successfully performing a variety of
professional planning tasks.
Kevin Chavous, who has been an AICP member for several
years, achieved the Advanced Specialty Certification in
Urban Design under AICP in recognition of his knowledge,
experience, and application of design principles. Kevin is
the only staff member with this certification.
Michael Narcowich, Principal Planner II in our
Community Planning section, successfully completed a
48-hour functional manager course provided by
Penn State Abington.
Shane Greenberg, Open Space Planner, has been
selected as an instructor at the Temple University School of
Landscape Architecture.
Henry Stroud, Trail Program Manager, has been named to
the Pennsylvania Trails Advisory Committee.
Marley Bice, Senior Planner in the Community Planning
section, serves as a Southeastern PA Section Council
Member in the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American
Planning Association.
