Montgomery County Open Space Board
The
formed in 1993, consists of
5 members who have interest and experience in land preservation and natural
resources protection. The board works with MCPC staff to identify suitable
properties and greenways to be protected in the county and to guide trail
development projects. It also assists in the promotion of conservation and trail
use throughout the county. The board held 5 meetings in 2016, one of which
was a tour of the historic Peter Wentz Farmstead and joint meeting with the
Montgomery County Parks, Trails and Historic Sites Advisory Board.

Montgomery County Transportation Authority
The
was formed by the
Montgomery County Commissioners to aid in the development of transportation
improvement projects throughout the county. The 9-member authority addresses
transportation improvement needs in the county by guiding projects such as the
Lafayette Street Extension Project and the Ridge Pike Improvement Project. It will
also assist in the acquisition of rights-of-way for future county trails. The authority
met 9 times in 2016.
